Privacy Policy
The short version: Where Did I Park? does not collect, store or share your personal data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your parking spots, photos, notes and timers are saved only on your own iPhone, and only you can see them.
Who we are
Where Did I Park? is made by Neo Derry, an independent developer based in Singapore (“we”, “us”). If you have any questions about this policy, email support@wheredidipark.app.
What the app stores, and where
To do its job, the app saves the following on your device only:
- The GPS location of each parking spot you save, with the date and time
- A place name or street address for each spot (see “Address lookup” below)
- Any notes you type, such as “Level 3, near lift B”
- Any photos you take or choose for a parking spot
- Parking timer settings and reminder times
- Your app preferences, such as your default maps app
We have no server and no database. None of this information is sent to us, and we cannot see it, access it or recover it.
Like other app data on your iPhone, this information may be included in your own iCloud or computer backup if you have backups turned on. Those backups are controlled by you and Apple, not by us.
Permissions the app asks for
Location (while using the app)
Used only when you tap “I Parked Here”, to record where your car is. The app does not track your location in the background.
Camera and photos
Used only when you choose to take or pick a photo of your parking spot. Photos are saved inside the app on your device. The app does not upload them and does not read the rest of your photo library.
Notifications
Used only to remind you before your parking time runs out. Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone; nothing is sent to us.
You can change any of these permissions at any time in your iPhone’s Settings app. The app keeps working without them, with the related feature turned off.
Apple and Google services the app uses
- Maps: the map inside the app is provided by Apple Maps. Apple may receive the area of the map being displayed in order to load it.
- Address lookup: when you save a spot, the app asks Apple’s location service to turn the coordinates into a readable address. This sends the coordinates to Apple.
- Directions: when you tap “Take Me There”, the location of your saved spot is passed to Apple Maps or Google Maps (whichever you choose) so that app can give you directions.
- Rating and sharing: “Rate on App Store” and “Share with Friends” use Apple’s built-in features. We receive no information from them.
These services are run by Apple and Google under their own privacy policies: Apple Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy.
When you contact us
If you email us for support, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to reply to you and to fix problems. We do not add you to a mailing list or share your email with anyone, and we delete support emails when they are no longer needed.
Deleting your data
You are always in control. You can:
- Swipe left on any spot in History to delete it
- Use Settings → Clear All Data in the app to erase all spots, photos, notes and timers
- Delete the app, which removes all of its data from your iPhone
Children
The app is a general-purpose utility and is not aimed at children. Because we do not collect any personal data, we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app changes how data is handled, we will update this page and the effective date above before that version is released.
